Television actress-turned-politician Smriti Irani on Wednesday renewed attack on Congress party and Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP, saying that she has come to Amethi to fight against the ruling party and not its B-team.

Amethi: Television actress-turned-politician Smriti Irani on Wednesday renewed attack on Congress party and Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP, saying that she has come to Amethi to fight against the ruling party and not its B-team.

“This democracy is not legacy of any family. I`m here to fight Congress not its B-team,” the BJP leader said in an apparent reference to Kejiwal`s AAP.

Upon her arrival here this morning, Irani was given a rousing welcome by the party workers who chanted slogans like “Amethi Hai Tayyaar .. Ab Ki Baar Modi Sarkaar!”.
Irani is due to file her nomination to fight the Lok Sabha election in the constituency held by Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi.

The actor-turned-politician will face the Congress vice president and Aam Aadmi Party candidate Kumar Vishwas in Amethi constituency of Uttar Pradesh.
Rahul Gandhi and Kumar Vishwas have already filed their nominations from the constituency.

Amethi goes to polls on May 07.
