Varanasi: The high-profile battle for Varanasi between the BJP and the AAP moved on to Twitter in a big way on Tuesday.
While supporters of both the parties are known to be very active on the micro-blogging website, the attack on AAP workers by supposedly BJP supporters has set the Twitter on fire.
AAP has claimed that the attack on its workers at Assi Ghat was an deliberate act to muffle their freedom of speech. The BJP has condemned the incident while also stressing that party cadre was not involved in the attack.
However, BJP supporters on the web are claiming that the AAP workers were beaten up by locals after they were caught drinking beer on the ghats of the Ganges.
