New Delhi: Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on Wednesday called the farmer's suicide at AAP rally here as tagic and said that a prompt action could have saved the precious life.

"Tragic loss of life among thousands standing. A prompt action could have saved the precious life," Raje said after the incident.

The chief minister also said that necessary steps will be taken, including compensation.

Delhi Police chief BS Bassi has ordered a probe into the suicide. The investigation into the incident will be headed by a joint CP.

Meanwhile, AAP leaders defended the conduct of the party and said that the news of the death came to light only after Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal concluded his speech.

They said Delhi Police rejected their pleas to help bring down the farmer and that it was the AAP volunteers who admitted the man to the hospital.
