Six firemen sustained minor burn injuries while battling a fire that broke out in a truck carrying chemicals here, an official said on Saturday.

New Delhi: Six firemen sustained minor burn injuries while battling a fire that broke out in a truck carrying chemicals here, an official said on Saturday.

The incident was reported around 10.35 pm on Friday from Alipur area of west Delhi when the truck was entering the national capital from Haryana.

"The truck carrying chemicals caught fire when it was entering Delhi from Haryana. The truck driver managed to stop it and made a call to the fire services following which we rushed five fire tenders to the spot," said a senior official of the Delhi Fire Services.

The fire was brought under control by 11.45 pm.
