JD-U seeks Irani's intervention in teacher's reservation at DU

JD(U) President Sharad Yadav has written to Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani seeking her intervention in the alleged violation of reservation policy at Delhi University.

New Delhi: JD(U) President Sharad Yadav has written to Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani seeking her intervention in the alleged violation of reservation policy at Delhi University.

Acting on a representation, which was also submitted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi a week ago, he said that some of the teachers belonging to the SC, ST, OBC and Persons with Disability (PWD) categories met him to express their "pain and agony" over non-application of the reservation policy in the university.

Noting that it is their "Constitutional right," Yadav said if such a thing is happening then it is a "grave violation" of the reservation policy by Vice Chancellor of Delhi University.

"In view of the above, I shall be grateful if you could kindly intervene in the matter so that the reservation policy in the teaching posts is strictly adhered to," Yadav said in the letter released by his party today.
