Patna: Taking jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remarks over poor electricity in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday said that power supply in the state has improved and the PM himself has got the maximum benefit from the same.

“When PM was talking about electricity in his speech then he hardly got response from audience. People know the state of electricity has improved now,” he was quoted as saying by ANI.

He further added, “Electricity supply has improved in Bihar and he was the one who was benefited from it the most. During Lok Sabha polls, people watched his speeches on TV across villages.”

Criticising PM Modi for doing nothing for Bihar, Kumar also said, “The country has already given him the opportunity to serve the people by making him Prime Minister. But he has not done anything for Bihar. Now since elections are round the corner, he remembers Bihar.”

Reacting to Modi's comments on George Fernandes, Kumar said, “There was a time when the BJP had a slogan: 'BJP ke teen dharohar – Atal, Advani, Murli Manohar'. Every one knows what they have done to Advaniji and Joshiji. And, he is talking about George Fernandes. Has he forgotten what they have done to Jaswant Singh?”

"Modi doesn't have sound knowledge about a Bihari's DNA. The DNA of Bihar is very effective. Ek Bihari sab par bhaari padega," he added.

During NDA's poll campaign in Bihar, PM Modi today launched a scathing attack on Nitish Kumar, accusing him of "back-stabbing" the people of the state and alleging that there is some problem with his "DNA".

"During the last elections, Kumar had said that if he was unable to provide electricity to entire Bihar, he would not come to ask for votes again in 2015...But have you got the electricity? It has not come. But he has come to ask for votes. He betrayed your trust. Forget me, he even back-stabbed you. Such people cannot be trusted again," PM Modi said.
