Katihar: A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped and left in critical condition in a village in Katihar district of Bihar on Wednesday, a police official said.
The incident occurred at Morsanda village in the district and one Kamlesh Kumar Ravidas (18) of the same village has been arrested in this connection, the official said.
"The girl had gone to relieve herself in the outskirts of the village where Ravidas was grazing buffaloes. He lured the child to a deserted place by promising to give chocolates and raped her," Falka Station House Officer (SHO) Satyanarayan Rai said.
The SHO said the girl was injured and later found by her family members. She told them about the incident and the family members have filed an FIR following which the accused was arrested.
Meanwhile, the girl has been admitted to Katihar Sadar Hospital for treatment, he added.
