Patna: Bihar jails are on high alert after an intelligence report in the wake of jailed Indian Mujahideen chief Yasin Bhatkal's claim that he could “soon escape”.

According to the intelligence agency officials, Bhatkal could reportedly be in touch with operatives who are in different Bihar jails.

The intelligence agencies had earlier intercepted a call made by Bhatkal from Hyderabad jail to his wife Zahida in south Delhi's Jamia Nagar, according to news reports.

During the phone call, which was being tapped, the 32-year-old hinted at getting help from the Islamic State, which now controls large swathes of territories in Syria and Iraq.

Co-founder of Indian Mujahideen, Bhatkal was arrested from Bihar by National Investigation Agency (NIA) in 2013 in connection with the 2011 Mumbai serial blasts.
