New Delhi: A real estate broker from Bangalore landed himself into trouble after he allegedly offered a huge sum of money in an attempt to please god.

Reportedly, the broker K Suryanarayana arranged a 'pooja of Goddess Varalakshmi' in his place and offered Rs 88 lakh cash along with pots of gold.

Following which, photographs clicked during the pooja started doing its round on the social media.

The photos captured Suryanarayana and his wife offering huge amount of cash and gold. According to an India Today report, the broker used 1.23 kg of gold to decorate his 'pooja ghar'.

Suryanarayana's photos have raised several controversies. People expressed their wonders as to how could he escape income tax raids.

The son of an auto driver, Suryanarayana, however, defended himself saying that he has earned both the cash and gold through 'honest means'.

Suryanarayana claimed to have paid Rs 13 lakh tax this year against his Rs 15 crore assets.
