Haryana teacher helps students cheat in class X board exam in Jhajjar, sacked

Chandigarh: After parents, it is said, teachers generally play a major role in shaping the future of their students, but what about those teachers who help their students pass examinations using unfair means?

In one such incident, a shocking video has now emerged which shows a senior teacher helping students cheat in the ongoing Class 10 board examination in Haryana's Jhajjar district.

The teacher was caught on camera reading out the answers to some select students from an answer key in her hand during the science paper at Government Girls Senior Secondary School in Jhajjar. 

Interestingly, when other students try to cheat from her answer key, the teacher shoes them away them.

After noticing the camera recording the students attending their board examination from outside, the teacher hides the answer key while another student quickly shuts the window.

Taking note of the incident, Jhajjar District Education Officer (DEO) Satbir Siwach was quoted by the Hindustan Times saying that teacher in the video has been relived of duty and have started an inquiry.

The incident comes at a time when The Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) has taken several measures to stop using unfair means, but incidents of copying and cheating continue unabated in the state’s schools.
