Haryana horror! Private parts of four-year-old girl burnt

Sirsa: A four-year-old girl suffered burn injuries at her private parts allegedly inflicted by her grandmother, police said on Saturday.

The girl was rescued on July 18 when the members of the local child welfare committee received information and came to her rescue.

The girl who was initially admitted to civil hospital had been discharged.

Police said there are burn injuries at and around private parts of the girl which were inflicted by a "chimta" (tongs).

On the complaint filed by the member of the Child Welfare Committee Geeta Kathuria, a case against unknown persons has been registered under the relevant section of the Juvenile Justice Act.

"We are investigating the matter," SHO Ding police station Jangir Singh said, adding that the incident took place on July 9.
