Show similar seriousness in probing other cases too: Kejriwal attacks investigating agencies

NEW DELHI: While Delhi Police is at Arvind Kejriwal's residence in connection with the investigation into the alleged assault of Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash, the Delhi Chief Minister has hit back at the investigating agencies.

Claiming that he was happy with the probe into the alleged assault case, he questioned why the Delhi Police does not show the same level of seriousness in investigating other cases too. Launching an attack on Amit Shah, Kejriwal said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president's alleged role in judge Loya death case should also be investigated.

"I'm happy that the probe at my residence is being done with utmost diligence. However, I want to tell the investigating agencies that if they show similar courage in probing Amit Shah's role in judge Loya's death case too, the country will appreciate them," he said.

Delhi Police visited Kejriwal's residence to probe the alleged assault of the Delhi Chief Secretary. The police will be examining the CCTV footage which would have been recorded at the CM's residence at the time of the incident.

The AAP has alleged that the Delhi Police pressured Kejriwal's adviser VK Jain to change his statement about the alleged attack on Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash by party's MLAs. Jain was apparently at Kejriwal's residence on Monday night, when AAP legislators allegedly attacked Prakash. Senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh claimed that Jain, in his first statement to the Delhi Police, had stated that when the alleged assault happened he was in the bathroom and he did not know what had happened in the room.

"However, the police claimed that today Jain is claiming that when he returned from the bathroom, he found Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash searching for his spectacles, indicating the possibility of an assault. Why did Jain change his stand within a day? Under whose pressure was he forced to change his statement?" Singh asked.

Singh even claimed that Jain was picked up by the Delhi Police last morning and was pressured to change his statement.
