Arvind Kejriwal mocks Ajay Maken, claims Congress leader may join BJP after MCD polls

New Delhi: A day after Delhi Congress president Arvinder Singh Lovely joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, Aam Aadmi Party leader and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday claimed that DPCC chief Ajay Maken was also "in talks with BJP president Amit Shah".

While releasing the Aam Aadmi Party's manifesto for the April 23 municipal polls, Kejriwal said the Congress was "finished" in the national capital.

"Congress is over in Delhi. Voting for the Congress means wasting your vote. I have learnt that even Ajay Maken is in talks with (BJP president) Amit Shah. He is only waiting for the polls to get over so that he can cut the AAP votes," Kejriwal said.

Former Delhi Congress president Arvinder Singh Lovely joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday.

Lovely, who had been elected four times as Congress MLA, was a minister in the Sheila Dikshit government and was considered a prominent Sikh face of the party in Delhi.

Hitting back at Kejriwal, Maken said that the Delhi Chief Minister should stop worrying about him.

 

"He should instead look at the irregularities found by the Shunglu panel against him and his government. He should be prepared to go to jail for this. We are meeting the Delhi Police Commissioner tomorrow (Thursday) in this regard. If the police fail to take any action, we will approach the court," Maken said in a statement yesterday.
