New Delhi: After the DRS controversy, mocking emerged as the flavour of the ongoing India-Australia Test series.

On Day 3 of the third Test in Ranchi, Virat Kohli was captured mocking Aussie camp after Steve Smith wasted a DRS review.

Indian captain's action was stemmed from the fact that he was given out on the similar delivery in the last Test.

It was followed by Glenn Maxwell mimicking Kohli's injury at the boundary ropes. His action failed to amuse many, including commentators.

Then, when Kohli was dismissed, Aussie Steve Smith was seen holding his, ostensibly, mimicking again. Later, it turned out the Aussie captain was not actually mimicking Kohli injury but only celebrating, as claimed by the Cricket Australia.

In such a light, what any neutral, sensible fan would prefer to see in the field of play is captains controlling their players, and they themselves showing the respect to injured players.

Luckily or unluckily, a video emerged wherein Shikhar Dhawan and Suresh Raina mocking an injured Shane Watson in 2013.

But unlike today, there was a certain Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the field, and he objected to Dhawan and Raina making a fun out of a rival who's injured.

The question is, can Kohli and Smith do the same?

Earlier in the day, former India batsman VVS Laxman slammed the Aussies for crossing the line.

"Glenn Maxwell and Steve Smith, what example is he setting to his team? That's very disappointing. You can sledge ... it's fine, but not mocking someone who is injured, in pain," said at tea break.
