New Delhi: While Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Cheteshwar Pujara and Lokesh Rahul were the clear heroes in India's 2-1 series win over Australia, one man who deserves a lot of credit is seamer Umesh Yadav.

Right from the first Test match, Umesh bowled his heart out and was rewarded for his accurate line and length. In the deciding Test against Australia at Dharamsala, the 29-year-old picked five wickets in two innings and played a crucial role in getting early breakthroughs for the hosts.

Veteran Indian cricketer Ravi Shastri was mighty impressed with his performance in the series and also had a new name for him.

"Strongman kal ka spell dekh ke maza aa gaya. Kangaroos ko aise kudate hue kabhi nahi dekha. Band baja di @y_umesh. Shabaash #INDvAUS," Shastri tweeted after India won the fourth Test by eight wickets.

In Australia's second innings at Dharamsala, Umesh dismissed Australian openers David Warner (6) and Matthew Renshaw (8) cheaply.

Shastri was also impressed with captaincy of Ajinkya Rahane, who was the stand-in skipper of the match after Virat Kohli was ruled out of the decider due to a shoulder injury.

"Well done @ajinkyarahane88. Excellent, proactive captaincy in Dharamsala #TeamIndia #IndvAus," Shastri praised Rahane in another tweet.

The series saw plenty of action – both on and off the field where while players were involved in several banters on the field, Australian media severely criticised Kohli's behaviour and even compared him with US President Donald Trump.
