New Delhi: Glenn Maxwell became only the second Aussie cricketer to complete a trifecta of centuries, but fast bowler Peter Siddle has some harsh words for the flambouyant batsman.

In a rather blunt manner, Siddle told Maxwell "don't talk", and "just make runs". Yes, they are also Victoria teammates.

On Day 2 of India-Australia third Test in Ranchi, Maxwell hit 104 off 185 balls to help Australia post a big total first innings total of 451 runs.

“I just think with Maxi, there was always a lot of talk about, he should be in the Test team, ‘I should be this, I should be that’,” Siddle told Fox Sports’ Gameday Live.

Ahead of his unexpected return to Test, Maxwell had blamed Victoria captain Matthew Wade’s decision to bat himself ahead of him at Shield level.

“I think the best thing for him to do was just to go out there and just make runs, mate.

“We know how talented you are, don’t talk about it, just go out there and make runs and make them pick you. I think that’s what all the great batsmen that haven’t been in the side have done," Siddle added.
