New Delhi: After several International cricketers refused to travel to Pakistan to play the PSL final in Lahore, Karachi Kings batsman Shoaib Malik urged them to not snub the final on March 5 giving an example of wife Sania Mirza.

Recently, as many as 13 people were killed in a suicide bomb blast that shook the city of Lahore incident on February 13, following which even the Pakistan Cricket Board thought of reconsidering the plans of hosting PSL final at home.

Though after the Dubai meeting, all doubts were cleared, many oversees players are unwilling to travel to Pakistan, sensing a risk to their lives.

Shoaib Malik, however, tried to persuade players to participate in the final by giving wife Sania Mirza's example.

Malik was quoted saying by Dawn, "I don't take security at home. I have informed the players here that my wife is an Indian national and even she doesn't take security whenever she visits Pakistan."

On being questioned over PSL's repute as compared to other international T20 leagues, Malik said, “Though I don’t think it’s fair to compare leagues, I think going by the standard of cricket after Big Bash, PSL takes the stand. And by God’s grace it’s getting better day by day.”
