Javed Miandad unfazed by Pakistani players' absence from IPL, says we've got our own PSL

New Delhi: A day after the ambivalent IPL auction, Pakistani legend Javed Miandad was unperturbed over Pakistani cricketers not being part of India's league cricket format. He in fact said, "There was a time when we really felt bad for not being part of it, but now we have our own league and its pretty successful."

It was last in 2008 when 11 players from Pakistan featured in the inaugural season of IPL. But few months later, India jolted with ripples of fear following the Mumbai terror attack and it thus saw an end to their IPL career. Not only so, it also wrapped up the much enthralling bilateral series between the two nations.

While the auction also featured big-money signings of two Afghan players- Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi, Miandad rather suggested them to build their own infrastructure at home. "Whether it is an Afghan player or a cricketer from some other country, IPL deals don't matter to us," said Miandad, "If a player is good then he will get bidders at any league."

Last year Zaheer Abbas had expressed his desire on having a talk with the BCCI officials about allowing cricketers to play in IPL. Sahid Afridi, too added on his views saying that IPL would serve good for the upcoming Pakistani cricketers.

Miandad also took a dig at the policies of Pakistan Cricket board and that they had recalled Mohammad Aamir amongst a pool of other talented players in the country. "Only the board is to blame for this mess" he added.
