New Delhi: Trent Boult is regarded as one of the most reliable New Zealand pacers and a white ball specialist. In the recently concluded IPL 10 auction, Boult was bought for a price of Rs. 5 cr by two- time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

The Black Caps pacer had a base price of Rs.1.5 CR, and became the costliest buy for KKR in this auction. He also became the second costliest Kiwi player after Brendon McCullum, who was bought by Gujarat Lions for Rs.7.5 cr.

After being bought at such a whooping price, Boult was asked how would he be spending this amount, to which he replied "A new pair of jeans, maybe". On being asked how he got to know about his auction, the quickie said "We were in a car with a couple of the lads following the Twitter feed. To see the name come through with a figure like that next to it was pretty unbelievable. It's bizarre how that much money can be put on the head of a player to play six or seven weeks."

The left arm medium pacer loves playing in the IPL for the experience that the tournament offers and not the big bucks that players make. He played just one game in IPL 9 for champions Sunrisers Hyderabad, which was frustrating for him.

"Different teams need different things. It was frustrating to only play one game last year but that's the way the tournament is played - four overseas players [in the XI] so people have to miss out. I'm definitely looking forward to putting my foot forward for KKR", said Boult.

Boult has been in one of the best forms of his career by taking wickets in almost every game. He recently took his career best ODI figure of 6/33 against Australia in 2016. The 27 year old pacer also proved his worth by taking 2/8 in the one off T20I match against South Africa.
