New Delhi: After Anil Kumble was appointed coach of the Indian cricket team, Ravi Shastri and Sourav Ganguly were involved in a public spat.

Dada, who was part of selection process for the next Indian coach, was accused of being disrespectful by Shastri, who had applied for the high-profile job.

Shastri argued that Ganguly should have been present in the room when the Cricket Advisory Committee conducted his interview.

In his defense, Ganguly stated the he had to attend an important meeting of the Cricket Association of Bengal, of which he was president.

Shastri's jibe led to Ganguly slamming the former for appearing via video conferencing from Bangkok for the interview.

Post this incident, Shastri took a break and then continued working for the BCCI as a media professional.

On Wednesday, the duo came face-to-face possibly for the first time after that bitter standoff.

Ahead of India's 500th Test, the BCCI invited all former captains to Kanpur and held a grand function on the eve of the 1st Test.

There was also a panel discussion featuring some of the captains including Dada and Shastri.

Interestingly, Sachin Tendulkar sat right between them during this on-stage discussion.

While there was nothing reported about Dada and Shastri, we certainly hope the duo had a chat and buried the hatchet.
