After Bishan Bedi's 'doosra', Virender Sehwag hits monster six on Brendon McCullum's birthday

New Delhi: Virender Sehwag and Brendon McCullum will go down in cricket history as two of the most destructive batsmen to have played the game.

Their styles and attitude to batting were very similar. The duo was solely guided by one principle - see ball, hit ball!

Viru and Baz won half their battles by instilling fear in opposition bowlers. Irrespective of the conditions and circumstances, they never dithered from playing their natural game.

Through their illustrious careers, Sehwag and McCullum had often spoken highly of each other.

Hence it came as no surprise when the former India opener paid a heartfelt and honest tribute on the former Kiwi skipper's birthday.

Virender Sehwag wished Bishan Singh Bedi on his birthday: Here's how his tweet backfired

Taking to social micro-blogging site Twitter, Viru wished McCullum in his remarkably unique style.

Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar too joined his former opening partner in wishing McCullum.

Sehwag has been the toast of Twitter for the last few months. He was however, mildly rebuked by India great Bishan Singh Bedi few days back.

Sehwag hailed birthday boy Bedi as a poet with the cricket ball, and went on to add that he "cheated batsmen with a cherry in hand".

But the former India captain seemed uncomfortable with with the word "cheated" and wasted no time in making it known to Viru.
