On father's death anniversary, Nitish Kumar visits native village in Nalanda

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday paid a visit to his native village Kalyan Bigha, in Nalanda district, on the death anniversary of his father Kaviraj Ramlakhan Singh.

Kumar, who was accompanied by his elder brother Satish Kumar, son Nishant Kumar and other close relatives, paid tributes to his father by garlanding his statue at the Kaviraj Ramlakhan Singh Smriti Vatika.

Kumar's father was a freedom fighter and an Ayurvedic medicine practitioner.

The Chief Minister also garlanded statues of his mother Parameshwari Devi and wife Manju Sinha which were installed nearby.

Kumar also offered prayers at the Bhagvati Mandir situated at Kalyan Bigha and interacted with residents of the village who were delighted over the Chief Minister's visit.

Others who were present on the occasion included Janata Dal (United) MP R C P Singh, MLCs Lalan Saraf and Sanjay Kumar Singh alias Gandhi ji and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Chanchal Kumar.
