Kurnool: First year students of Kurnool Medical College (KMC) were allegedly ragged by seniors on Tuesday, reports said.

The seniors allegedly forced their juniors to go for blood transfusions and wash clothes, clean bathrooms.

College principal GS Ramprasad has ordered an enquiry into the alleged ragging incident.

Kurnool Police have registered a complaint on the first hand information of the affected students and initiated probe.

Interestingly, the alleged ragging incident happened despite the college having its own anti-ragging cell and anti-ragging squad.

Earlier this year, HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar had said that there would be no tolerance for those involved in any ragging and such students would not be allowed to continue their education.

The Union Minister had launched an anti-ragging mobile application which help students file their complaints of ragging.

The app works on android system on which students can log in and register their complaints immediately.
