Tests of Colorado's legal Marijuana reveal that Weed is More Potent than Ever

According to tests of Colorado's legal marijuana, the product is more potent than ever before. The tests also revealed that marijuana also contains some contaminants, which could be harmful. As per reports, Charas Scientific tested more than 600 samples of the state's marijuana. The lab revealed that it had high levels of THC. It is a psychoactive compound that produces the high sensation.

The reports stated that previously the marijuana that was brought at street level contained levels of THC not more than 10%. The retail strains in the state had an average level of about 18.7%, and in some cases, it went as high as 30%.

While providing information on test of the state's legal marijuana, a spokesman for the research company said that the potent of the product does not pose any harm when it smoking, but the product could be over-consumed as its effects are not as immediate as with smoking.

According to the lab, it has also found some fungus and chemical butane present in the samples of the product. Researchers of the lab said that they were not sure about the product's levels. As per the researchers, it was not figured out that people who consume the product would have health concerns.

The researchers stated that what is concerning is the lack of cannabidiol. Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a compound that is present in marijuana and believed to have many medicinal properties. As per some experts, CBD has an ability to fight with depression, anxiety, pain and seizures.

Charas Scientific had been testing recreational strains, not medicinal ones, so this isn't too surprising. According to the spokesman of the company, "There is a decent number of people buying retail marijuana who want some medicinal value".
