Muthoot Microfin gets ₹130 cr
Muthoot Microfin has raised ₹130 crore from Chicago-based impact investment firm Creation Investments, which will pick up an 11 per cent stake. It will use the money to serve bottom of the pyramid clients and expand business to newer geographies such as Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Haryana and Punjab. It is now present in 10 States and has 13 lakh customers.
NowFloats closes ₹68-cr Series B
NowFloats, an online discovery platform that helps businesses find more customers, has raised about ₹68 crore ($10 million) in a Series B round from Iron Pillar and IIFL, and existing investors Blume Ventures and Omidyar Network. The company will use it on customer support and engagement and on increasing the value proposition of the technology provided to SMEs.
₹108-crore funding for IKP
ICICI Knowledge Park has raised ₹108 crore from domestic and global investors, to further its efforts to boost start-ups and innovation in biotech and life sciences. The investors include Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, US Food and Drug Administration, US Agency for International Development, Department of International Development of the UK, and the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council of the Department of Biotechnology and the Karnataka government. The money will be used for collaborative research and creation of facilities.
HUFT raises ₹13.5 cr in pre-Series A
Heads Up for Tails (HUFT), a leading luxury brand for pet products, has raised about ₹13.5 crore in a pre-Series A round, from a group of wealthy individuals. The start-up will use the money to improve its technology and expand its footprint in India and overseas through both offline and online. With more than one lakh customers, the brand offers a range of organic grooming products such as shampoos, conditioners, dry bath shampoo as well as human grade treats for pets, along with designer collars, leashes and accessories.
BookMyShow buys MastiTickets
BookMyShow has acquired MastiTickets, an online ticket booking firm, for an undisclosed amount. The Hyderabad-based MastiTickets has a presence in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and has eight employees. BookMyShow has over 1,000 employees. The acquisition gives BookMyShow 120 cinemas in the two States and plans to add 1,000-1,500 screens to its platform this year.
Parinee raises ₹300 cr from PNB Housing
Real estate developer Parinee Group has raised ₹300 crore in debt from PNB Housing Finance for its commercial project at Andheri in Mumbai. Parinee will use the money for project related expenses. The debt has a tenor of four years.
Chandigarh Angels Network invests in YOLO Health
Mumbai-based healthcare start-up YOLO Health has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Chandigarh Angels Network. The company provides walk-in kiosks with integrated medical services. It will use the money to strengthen product development and pipeline of new products, clinical and regulatory compliance, research and development, and marketing.
Online fish and meat delivery venture raises angel funds
Freshtohome.com, a Bengaluru-based online fish and meat delivery venture, has raised undisclosed angel funding from Silicon Valley tech stalwarts. It will use the money to set up a 60-tonne fish procession plant at Alappuzha and to expand online to new geographies. It now caters to over 85,000 customers in Bengaluru, Delhi and National Capital Region, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Mysuru and Palakkad, with total sales of about six tonnes a day.
