Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), in pursuance to its commitment towards enhancing the quality of education in India, has supported the Confederation of Indian Industry’s (CII) National Summit on Quality in Education (NSQE).

NSQE's two-day summit held on September 22-23 was aimed to demystify the current challenges and explore new avenues in teacher empowerment by showcasing effective as well as replicable innovative strategies, models and processes.

The theme of the summit was ‘Attaining Institutional Excellence through Teacher Empowerment'. Over 500 delegates working in the area of education from educational institutions, private institutions, research organisations and government participated.

As part of its continued focus towards upliftment of quality of education in the local communities, TKM has undertaken several initiatives aimed at enhancing the all-round development of rural children thereby improving the quality of their future.

Commenting on the initiative, Shekar Viswanathan, Vice-Chairman and Whole-time Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, “India is one of the youngest and fastest growing economies of the world. Yet, the education system in the country hasn’t kept pace with the growing population. At Toyota Kirloskar Motor, we firmly believe in working towards improving the overall quality of education and this should begin at the grassroots level. In order to attain the same, the role of teachers becomes paramount. By empowering educators with the right knowledge of identifying student potential, utilising effective engagement strategies and leveraging technologies – we can ensure our children shape into responsible individuals with the right behaviour and skill sets.”
