Southern Army Commander Lt Gen Bipin Rawat today inaugurated a renovated Sainik Udyan, having a 12-feet tall statue of a soldier, in Colaba here. The garden, dedicated to spirit of soldiers, was constructed at a cost of over ₹28 lakh.
It also has an historical military tank, which was inducted in the then British Army in 1942. The tank is named after General Willian Sherman, who had earned laurels for Union Forces for his role in the American Civil war.
