Karnataka Vikas Grameen Bank (KVGB), a regional rural bank headquartered in Dharwad, has launched ‘Jana Chaitanya’, a programme to instil confidence among farmers by meeting them at their doorsteps.

A press release by the bank said here that the scheme would be in operation from August 27 to September 27.

Staff members of the bank branch will visit each house in their area and collect information to find solutions to their problems with bank’s assistance.

The release said the entire information about each family will be recorded under ‘Jana Chaitanya’.

Launching the programme on Tuesday, Ashok Reddy, Chairman of the bank, said that some farmers are preparing for the rabi crop even in the midst of drought-like situation.

Some farmers even want to take up self-employment activities, and some want training in some employment generation activities. He said that it is the duty of bankers to identify such people and help them.
