A day after the government cut prices of domestic natural gas, city gas distributors of Mumbai and Delhi NCR (National Capital Region) announced a cut in rates for consumers effective from midnight of October 1/October 2.
Delhi’s city gas distributor Indraprastha Gas Ltd cut rates by ₹ 0.80 per kg for compressed natural gas (CNG) used as an automotive fuel. CNG price will be ₹ 0.90 per kg lower in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad, IGL said.
Domestic piped natural gas (PNG), used as a cooking fuel, will be lower by ₹ 0.70 per standard cubic metre (scm) in Delhi and by ₹ 0.90 per scm in Nodia, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad.
After revision, CNG in Delhi will be ₹ 37.20 a kg and ₹ 46.20 in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad. PNG will cost ₹ 24.65 per scm in Delhi and ₹ 27.05 per scm in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad.
In Mumbai, Mahanagar Gas Ltd cut CNG prices by ₹ 1.05 a kg and domestic PNG price by ₹ 0.54 per scm.
After the revision, CNG will cost ₹ 41.90 a kg in Mumbai while PNG will cost ₹ 25.31 per scm. The reduction will vary depending on local levies in adjoining areas of Mumbai.
