1) FIPB will on Tuesday take up 12 foreign investment proposals, including those of BNP Paribas Asset Management lndia Pvt Ltd and Sharekhan Ltd. Other proposals pertain to companies such as Willmar Schwabe lndia Pvt Ltd, SAET lndia Pvt Ltd, Bashundhara Paper Mills India Pvt Ltd and Whizdm lnnovations Pvt Ltd.

2) A joint session of the Telangana legislature will be held today to consider the Constitution amendment Bill for Goods and Services Tax, which was passed recently by Parliament. By convention, a Constitution amendment Bill has to be ratified by half of the State Assemblies in the country. A two-day session of the Mizoram Assembly has also been called today to ratify the Constitutional amendment Bill for GST.

3) Jeep India has pre-poned the launch of its SUVs to Tuesday from September 1. The carmaker will announce the pricing of the variants and open bookings for these upcoming vehicles. Jeep's product line-up for India includes the Wrangler Unlimited, the Grand Cherokee and the SRT. The more humble Wrangler Unlimited will be the brand's entry-level model in the country.

4) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to be present at the launch of the SAUNI (Saurashtra Narmada Avataran Irrigation) Yojana providing Narmada water to parched areas of Saurashtra, on Tuesday. As Gujarat chief minister Modi had launched the project to link 10 reservoirs, including three major dams of Aji-2, Und and Machchu-2, to the Narmada river.

5) India is expected to raise its concerns over the visa issue and pitch for fast-tracking the talks for the proposed Social Security Agreement during the second US-India Strategic and Commercial Dialogue (S&CD) in the Capital on Tuesday. Besides, the two sides would deliberate on ways to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in both countries.

6) Bangladesh will conduct a trial run of a cargo vehicle from Dhaka to Delhi on August 30 under the Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Nepal (BBIN) Motor Vehicle Agreement (MVA). A cargo vehicle with readymade garment items will start its journey from Dhaka and will cross the Benapole-Petrapole on August 30. The route for the trial run is Dhaka-Magura-Jessore-Benapole-Petrapole-Kolkata-Delhi.
