The Mysore Industries Assocation (MIA) will build Mysore Export Centre to facilitate exports from Mysore, Mandya and Chamarajanagar districts.
P Vishwanath, President, MIA, said: “The centre, when operational, is likely to help 40,000 industries. Nearly 45 per cent of the industries in the region fall under small and medium scale industries.”
The export centre is to come up on the Ring Road at Hebbal Industrial Area in Mysore. The centre will have a facility to conduct seminars, workshops and to showcase the products on a permanent basis.
Suresh Kumar Jain, General Secretary, MIA, said: “The current export market turnover from Mysore region is around Rs 7,000 crore per annum. We are planning to increase it to Rs 17,000 crore in the next five years.”
