Power sector stocks Tata Power and NTPC made rapid strides to lead the pack on the BSE by close on Thursday.
At 3.35 pm Tata Power was the top gainer, trading up 4 per cent at ₹87.15 as against ₹83.80 at close on Wednesday.
NTPC extended its morning gains to close up 2.90 per cent at ₹124.15 as against ₹120.65 at close yesterday.
State Bank of India held firm to end the day up 2.12 per cent at ₹2,026.25. The stock had closed the previous session at ₹1,984.25.
Tata Motors edged lower by the close. The auto stock was trading at ₹429.30 as against ₹421 at close on Wednesday. This represented a gain of 1.97 per cent.
BHEL also declined by 1.87 per cent to trade at ₹185.05 as against ₹181.65 at close yesterday.
