Sugar prices on the Vashi spot market and at mill level remained unchanged while increased lifting pressure on stockists led naka rates to drop by ₹10-20 a quintal. Morale was steady.
Sources said that volume at mill level was in line with need due to month-end. Freight rates were unchanged on routine demand. Arrivals to the Vashi market were at 59-60 truck loads while local dispatches were at the same level. On Thursday evening, 9-10 mills offered tenders and sold about 28,000-30,000 bags (of 100 kg each) at ₹2,980-3,050 (2,980-3,050) for S-grade and ₹3,000-3,130 (3,000-3,130) for M-grade.
The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹3,106-3,206 (3,100-3,202) and M-grade ₹3,182-3,322 (3,182-3,322). Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹3,070-3,130 (3,080-3,150) and M-grade ₹3,130-3,240 (3,150-3,225).
