Sugar prices declined further by ₹10-15 a quintal at Vashi market as producers sold the commodity at ₹10-20 lower. Naka rates were down by ₹20-30. Volume remained normal on support of festival demand.
Sources said local dispatches remained higher than arrivals as there were no loading/unloading activities. Mills are continuously selling commodity since the government imposed stock limits.
Arrivals were at 60-61 truck loads and local dispatches were at 64-65 loads. Freight rates were steady. The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates:S-grade ₹3,592-3,761 (3,600-3,755) and M-grade ₹3,706-3,852 (3,716-3,862. Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹3,570-3,620 (3,580-3,650) and M-grade ₹3,630-3,710 (3,650-3,740).
