About 84 per cent of the 10.58 lakh kg offered for Coonoor Tea Trade Association auctions was absorbed with average price declining to ₹107.32 a kg from previous week’s 10-month high of ₹109.24. Homedale Estate’s Broken Pekoe, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, topped the Leaf tea auction and the entire CTC market when Santhosh Tea Industries bought it for ₹252 per kg. In the CTC Dust tea auction, Homedale Estate’s Peko Dust topped at ₹247. In the orthodox market, Kodanad topped at ₹283 a kg, followed by Chamraj ₹256 and Kairbetta ₹255.
