Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd and Bharat Electronics Ltd have signed an umbrella memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the aim of mutual co-operation and knowledge transfer in avionics.
The MoU was signed in the presence of T Suvarna Raju, CMD, HAL, S K Sharma, CMD, BEL, and senior officials from both the Defence PSUs in New Delhi on Tuesday.
D K Venkatesh, Director (Enginerring and R&D), HAL, and A T Kalghatgi, Director (R&D), BEL, signed the MoU.
“The umbrella understanding includes sharing of expertise in design, development, engineering and manufacturing between HAL and BEL to develop and produce advanced airborne communication, and electronic warfare systems,” Suvarna Raju, said.
Sharma said: “BEL is pleased to be associated with HAL and share the respective expertise and competencies for the common objectives. I am sure such efforts will lead to greater indigenisation and self-reliance in defence technologies. This collaboration will support the ‘Make in India’ mission.”
