Kalyan Jewellers will be adding 14 new showrooms in India and seven in Qatar at a total investment of ₹600 crore.

According to a press release, the company will invest ₹350 crore to expand its distribution capabilities in the northern and eastern parts India and the balance ₹250 crore for the proposed entry into Qatar.

The jeweller, which recently launched a showroom in Bhubaneswar, is consolidating its presence in the East by launching two outlets in Kolkata. In addition, it will launch three outlets in Rajasthan and two more in Chennai.

The press release, quoting Chairman and Managing Director TS Kalyanaraman, said: “Qatar presence is critical for us to push the Gulf’s share of the group turnover to the 40 per cent mark, which is our medium-term target.”
