Essar Power Hazira Ltd (EPZL), on Thursday, said its plant has set an industry benchmark by registering “strong performance” in its first full quarter of operations, the third quarter of 2015-16, ended December 31, 2015.
Without revealing the net profit, a company spokesman said the plant has registered “post-tax operational profits.”
The company recorded a revenue of Rs.52.91 crore and EBITDA of Rs.45.89 crore for the quarter, according to a press release.
The multi-fuel plant, whose Unit I of 135 MW started commercial operations in July 2015, is expected to reduce carbon emissions by six million tons once its Unit II (135 MW) is commissioned.
The EPHL plant is a green-field captive power project of Essar Steel Ltd’s 10 million ton plant at Hazira.
