Aditya Birla-group owned Grasim is looking at a larger play in the women’s wear segment through its viscose fabric brand, ‘Liva’.

Liva is a B2B brand, which means that it supplies fabric to women apparel-makers.

According to Manohar Samuel, President, Marketing & Business Development, Birla Cellulose, a part of the Aditya Birla group, the company will look to expand its presence in the saree market, which it just entered, and “across other categories”.

Over the last one year since its launch, Liva has moved from supplying fabric for topwear to bottomwear. The bottomwear range includes palazzo and harem pants and leggings.

“We will slowly look to expand across categories. Currently, we have entered the saree market and will supply to some of the boutique stores of Kolkata,” he said.
