Devvarman loses in singles

Austin Krajicek of the US knocked out the sixth-seeded Somdev Devvarman 6-3, 6-4 in the pre-quarterfinals of the $50,000 Challenger tennis tournament in Winnetka, US.

In the €1,06,500 Challenger in Braunschweig, Germany, Sriram Balaji and Philipp Petzschner of Germany were beaten 6-7(5), 6-3, 10-5 in the doubles pre-quarterfinals by Daniel Masur and Alexander Zverev of Germany.

Vishnu Vardhan and Kumara P. Saradhi Adavelly was beaten 6-4, 6-4 by Christopher Rungkat and David Agung Susanto of Indonesia in the doubles semifinals of the $10,000 ITF men’s Futures tennis tournament in Bangkok on Thursday.

The results: At Illinois: $50,000 Challenger: Pre-quarterfinals: Austin Krajicek (US) bt Somdev Devvarman 6-3, 6-4.

At Braunschweig: Euro1,06,500 Challenger: Doubles: Pre-quarterfinals: Daniel Masur & Alexander Zverev (Ger) bt Sriram Balaji & Philipp Petzschner (Ger) 6-7(5), 6-3, 10-5.

At Bangkok: $10,000 ITF men’s Futures: Doubles: Semifinals: Christopher Rungkat & David Agung Susanto (Ina) bt Kumara P. Saradhi Adavelly & Vishnu Vardhan 6-4, 6-4; Dane Chuntraruk & Pruchya Isarow (Tha) bt Mohit Mayur & Sasikumar Mukund 6-4, 6-3.
