KOLKATA: Some top Indian juniors, including two-time National champion Nitin Sinha and Parikshit Somani, will feature in the ITF juniors event to be held on the clay courts of the Dakshin Kalikata Sansad here.

Among the girls, Akansha Bhan and Rhea Verma are the well-known names from the host country in the absence of Zeel Desai and Mahak Jain, who will give the grade-3 event a miss for the junior Australian Open.

Players from 14 countries, including India, will be seen in action in boys and girls’ singles and doubles competitions for the under-18 age group. The qualifiers will be played on Saturday and Sunday, while the main event will be held from Monday to Saturday.

There will be 24 direct entries apart from four wild cards and four qualifiers in each of the singles draws of 32 each, said Bengal Tennis Association president Hiranmoy Chatterjee at a press conference here on Friday.
