Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar has welcomed the appointment of Anil Kumble as Team India head coach, saying “achche din” await Indian cricket.

Former India captain K. Srikkanth termed Kumble’s appointment “a positive development that is good for Indian cricket.”

Former India paceman J. Srinath said: “They have made the right choice. He will bring that never-say-die attitude, apart from his technical inputs and the confidence he instils in youngsters.”
