Professional and press photographers celebrated the World Photography Day with gaiety and fervour in the district on Friday. A photo exhibition was organised at the Press Club as part of the celebrations.

Inaugurating the exhibition District Collector Yogitha Rana assured photographers of solving their long-pending problems and said that she would take the initiative. She appealed to the photographers to extend their cooperation to the administration in attending the civic issues.

Appreciating the role of photographers in the media she said that they effectively carried the messages to the people with their pictures.

The Collector and Mayor Akula Sujatha earlier went round the photo exhibition. They also honoured the photographers with shawls and mementoes. Photographers’ Association president Ravinder, vice-president K.V. Ramana and treasurer Ranjith, TUWJ leaders A. Sailu and M. Limbadri were present.
