Inspector General of Police Sowmya Mishra has called upon all sections of society to participate in the plantation of saplings and nurture it regularly and strive for the protection of mother nature.

The IGP participated in the plantation of saplings in the District Police Training Centre (DPTC) on the outskirts of Karimnagar on Tuesday. It may be recalled that Sowmya Mishra, when she was Additional SP (Admn.) in Karimnagar district from 1991 to 2001 was instrumental in the allotment of land for the DPTC and its development.

She also played a crucial role in the development of district police headquarters with the construction of hospital, district guards barracks, Police Martyrs Memorial Park, open air theatre and other facilities in the headquarters.

On the occasion, she recollected her tenure in Karimnagar district. She also appreciated the district police for playing an active role in the plantation of saplings and its protection. Superintendent of Police D. Joel Davis, Additional SP (Admn) T. Annapurna, and others were also present.

Earlier, the IGP visited Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Devasthanam in Vemulawada and offered special prayers.
