Rotary Club of Nizamabad and Indur Paediatrics Association (IPA) conducted an awareness programme on the significance of the use of Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) in combating epidemics like diarrhoea, as part of the ORS Week celebrations at the Navya Bharathi Global School here on Wednesday.

Addressing the gathering of students, teaching and non-teaching staff, IPA general secretary Dr. Satyakumar said that with new water mixing with drinking water at different sources in monsoon, it will get contaminated causing an epidemic. Therefore, children and parents must be cautious and should take suitable measures to prevent it, he said.

Clean surroundings

They should be aware about how the diseases spread and should keep ORS packets ready, besides keeping the surroundings clean and tidy. If people suffer from diarrhoea, they should consume the ORS and consult a doctor immediately, Mr. Satyakumar said.

Rotary Club president Ravulapally Jagadeeswar Rao, Dr. Deepak Rathode, Dr. Balesh and others were also present.
