‘Rakshak Dalams’ formed to curb crime

In an unique endeavour to curb the crime in rural parts of the district specially during nights, Superintendent of Police Vikram Jeet Duggal constituted village-level ‘Rakshak Dalams’ making the local youth as members of the team.

Addressing a meeting at Pochampally with about 1,000 youth gathered from 21 villages under Bhongir sub-divisional police purview here on Friday, Mr. Duggal said that the police have identified 42 youth from each village.

The police would constitute seven teams each containing seven members which would move around the streets of villages during the night. Each team will discharge their duty on one week on each day.

The SP presented torch lights to all these teams on this occasion. DSP S. Mohan Reddy, Inspectors Sivarami Reddy and others were present.

Meanwhile, the SP also took part in anti-ragging meeting in a private engineering college at Deshmuki.
