Rajaiah accuses Naidu of obstructing SC categorisation

May 16, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 07:10 am IST - WARANGAL:

Former Deputy Chief Minister T Rajaiah has accused Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of obstructing the categorisation of SCs into A, B, C and D and depriving the sub castes of their due share in development. Speaking to newsmen here on Sunday, Mr Rajaiah said the dalits were fighting for the categorization and benefits accorded to them by the governments since 22 years. By joining hands with the BJP at Centre, Mr Naidu was obstructing the implementation of Usha Mehra committee recommendations. Mr Naidu should also pass a resolution in AP Assembly as was done by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and prove his commitment towards uplift of dalits.

“The BJP promised that they would implement SC categorization within 100 days of assuming power but they have deceived the people,” he said adding that Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari have met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and demanded for passage of SC categorisation Bill in Parliament. No such gesture was shown by AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
