‘Only 19 p.c. TV connections run on set top boxes’

Joint Collector Sri Devasena said only 19 per cent of cable television connections were running with set top boxes in Karimnagar district.

At a review meeting with multiple system operators (MSOs) in Karimnagar town on Wednesday, the Joint Collector said that as per the statistics available with the Commercial Taxes Department, only 17,810 cable connections were provided with set top boxes against a total of 93,587 connections in various municipalities and towns in the district.

She instructed the MSOs to expedite the installation of set top up boxes and submit a report within one week.

She also warned the MSOs of stern action if they failed to comply with the Union government order of fixing set top boxes to all cable TV connections. DRO T. Veerabrahmaiah, Sircilla RDO Shyamlal Prasad, and Karimnagar town Cable TV Operators Association president Veda Venkat Reddy were also present.
