One crest gate of Peddavagu opened

Even as Peddavagu medium irrigation project at Gummadipalli in Aswaraopet mandal continued to receive heavy inflows following incessant rains in the catchment areas, the project officials opened one crest gate of the reservoir to let out surplus water downstream on Monday.

According to sources, the water level in the project reached the full reservoir level on Monday afternoon prompting the irrigation staff concerned to lift one crest gate of the project as a precautionary measure.

Meanwhile, the Kinnerasani reservoir in Palvancha mandal witnessed slight rise in water level following significant inflows into the project from upstream areas, according to official sources.

Following incessant rains in the catchment areas the project reached full reservoir level
