Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Special Chief Secretary S.P. Singh has appreciated the district administrative machinery for ensuring planting of more saplings than the given target in several villages of the district.

Going round Biknoor, Kamareddy and Sadasivanagar mandals observing the Mission Bhagiratha and the Haritha Haram programme works on Thursday, he appealed to the people to protect the saplings, the way they take care of their children, until they became big trees.

Additional saplings

He expressed pleasure at the execution of Haritha Haram programme and suggested to District Collector Yogitha Rana to get some more saplings planted in villages.

Under the Mission Bhagiratha which was a unique programme in the entire country fresh drinking water would be supplied to every household by next year, he said. He was apprised of the details of ongoing works under the scheme at Mallannagutta in Kamareddy mandal.
